Heery International and Anshen + Allen are designing the $18 million Science and Technology Building at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. Aiming for LEED Silver certification, the planned 62,000-sf, four-story building will house students and faculty in mathematics, computer science, chemistry, physics, and forensics departments. A laboratory and classroom wing, office space, and first-floor cafe will enliven the learning environments and inspire research. Students and faculty may gather in the "discovery forum," a cone-shaped social area designed to ignite academic collaboration, while a transparent glass bridge will unite the science quadrangles.
