The John R. Good Elementary School in Irving, Texas, is undergoing renovations to modernize the 1960s-style campus. Headed by KAI Texas, the $3 million project will feature a new kitchen design to support innovative nutritional objectives, a rejuvenated entryway with secure access control, and updated rooftop heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning equipment.
Cosmetic upgrades, such as new tile and carpet in classrooms, offices, and corridors, and a new rubber flooring system in the two gymnasiums cap off the design plans. A revised parking lot and bus facility will help accommodate the growing student population. The school district began with a single wooden schoolhouse in 1959 and now encompasses 48.5 square miles within the city.
