After TRi Architects of St. Louis was selected to design the First Community Credit Union in Chesterfield, Mo., the firm faced a big design hurdle. The building owner wanted a distinctive design for the area's largest credit union, but the Chesterfield Commons development required that all buildings meet master-planned standards.
Surrounded mostly by big-box retailers, the three-story office created by the design team is 70% glass and features a two-story atrium with curtain wall covering much of the front and back of the building.
To engineer and manufacture the curved-radius, sloped curtain wall system for the facility, local design-builder Brinkman Contractors and glazing contractor St. Charles Glass, Wentzville, Mo., specified CW-400, CW-600, ICW-250, and ZG-2000 curtain wall systems from Vistawall for the project. The Building Team also used a Vistawall FG-3000 storefront system for the entrance.
