Looking for a durable, low-maintenance siding product to replace 800,000 sf dilapidated Masonite at the Madison Park at Alta Loma apartment complex in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., local general contractor Friess Construction specified WeatherBoards FiberCement Siding from CertainTeed. An alternative to traditional cedar shake and other wood siding, the siding is made using a combination of recycled fly ash, portland cement, wood fiber, and specialty additives. The green formula creates an environmentally friendly, lightweight, low-density product with authentic-looking grains and textures.
“WeatherBoards had the look we wanted and the low-maintenance features of fiber-cement siding,” said Mike Tikunoff, director of operations with Friess Construction.
