Effective May 8, 2014, Harley Ellis Devereaux’s San Diego Office has added new team members to the leadership group.

The new Office Leader for San Diego is Neville Willsmore. Originally from Australia, where he earned his degree in Architecture and spent his early career, Neville moved to San Diego in 1999. He brings a broad spectrum of experience in business development, management and client relationships across a number of markets as well as a high level of enthusiasm and collaborative spirit, all of which we feel will add to our office.

In addition, Thomas Christian has joined us as a Studio Leader for our K-12 and Higher Education studios in San Diego. Thomas is a licensed Architect in California with a specialization in educational facilities planning & design. He has worked at a number of southern California firms since 1982. His last position, he led their K-12 and Community College market sectors. He brings extensive business development, planning, design and management expertise to us, which will strengthen our own expertise in those markets as well as provide studio leadership support in San Diego.

Both Neville and Thomas are collaborative professionals with strong planning and design skills and the ability to
think strategically about our work for our Clients.

Detroit’s Michigan Central Station, centerpiece of innovation hub, opens

The recently opened Michigan Central Station in Detroit is the centerpiece of a 30-acre technology and cultural hub that will include development of urban transportation solutions. The six-year adaptive reuse project of the 640,000 sf historic station, created by the same architect as New York’s Grand Central Station, is the latest sign of a reinvigorating Detroit.
