GREENBUILD 2011: Wall protection line now eligible to contribute to LEED Pilot Credit 43

GREENBUILD 2011: Wall protection line now eligible to contribute to LEED Pilot Credit 43

By By BD+C Staff | October 4, 2011

Construction Specialties announced their MBDC Cradle to Cradle CertifiedCM wall protection line, Acrovyn 4000, is eligible to contribute to LEED certification under Pilot Credit 43 as a Type 1 Environmental Certified Product.

The system is already eligible to contribute to several other LEED credits but this Pilot Credit, recently released by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), offers an additional credit option to customers hoping to attain LEED certification for their project.

The USGBC added Pilot Credit 43 as a new incentive for product manufacturers to obtain third-party certification of their environmental claims and to release environmental footprint data regarding their products. The new credit is available for immediate use and applies to the Innovation & Design section of a LEED project checklist. BD+C
