Ah, 2003! For our Giants, it was neither the best of years nor the worst of years. Most firms saw modest single-digit gains in revenue, while a few firms with a strong footprint in healthcare and school construction fared somewhat better. Yet hope springs eternal! Looking to the second half of 2004, there's cause for optimism in revitalized hotel construction, booming security-related projects, overseas work in China and parts of the Mideast, and even a slight uptick in office buildings.
