Construction work has started on the new National Museum of Marine Science and Technology in Keelung, Taiwan. According to ArchDaily, the Foster + Partners' design features the largest aquarium in northern Taiwan, with waterfront views and location to a nearby fishing village.

Fosters + Partners designed the building to be the first of its kind among the world’s aquariums, with tank designs that will provide guests with the opportunity to see even more of the museum’s marine life.

The building’s façade will face toward Badouzi harbor, and the aquarium will include a shop, café, and restaurant. The museum also has exhibition space to honor the city’s dedication to conservation of local squid species, which will be highlighted during Keelung’s annual squid festival.
