Forrester Construction Company has begun the construction of the $12 million Aquilino Cancer Center on the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital campus in Rockville, Md., with completion slated for summer 2013. This community-based, freestanding comprehensive cancer center is the first of its kind in Montgomery County, Md. The new 51,000-square-foot building will include two linear accelerator vaults for radiation equipment.
Awarded by the joint venture of the RMJ Development Group and Shady Grove Adventist Hospital along with the Walker Group and AtSite, the Aquilino Cancer Center is among the growing number of healthcare projects led by Forrester Construction Company, strengthening the firm’s foothold in the healthcare and science and technology commercial construction industries. Are architects falling behind on BIM?
A study by the National Building Specification arm of RIBA Enterprises showed that 43% of architects and others in the industry had still not heard of BIM, let alone started using it. China's low-carbon future city
In 2005, the Chinese government announced its target to reduce energy consumption per GDP unit by 20% by the year 2010. After a multi-billion investment, that target has been reached.
