Florida school seeking LEED Gold

The School District of Indian River County, Fla., will welcome the addition of North County Middle School “BB” in 2009, a $37 million, 167,500-sf complex in Vero Beach designed by SchenkelShultz Architecture of West Palm Beach. The campus—now under construction by Proctor Construction Company of Vero Beach—is designed to meet the LEED for Schools Gold criteria, with features such as high-efficiency lighting, a rainwater harvesting system, and solar panels.
