The new Kroger Ocado Customer Fulfillment Center (CFC) has opened in Groveland, Fla.

The 338,000-sf automated warehouse is the first of its kind in the United States. In partnership with United Kingdom-based online retailer Ocado solutions, the center will feature autonomous mini fridge-sized robotics that will work alongside team members to gather, pack, and load online orders made by Kroger customers.

The new CFC features the distribution center, office space, a two-story break room, and a mezzanine floor spread across its four floors. The project is important for Kroger because the company currently does not have any brick-and-mortar stores in Florida. The project is anticipated to attract numerous high-paying jobs to the region.

The project broke ground in July 2019 and celebrated its grand opening on July 29th.
