Document on gypsum boards sets stage for preparing Environmental Product Declaration

Document provides common set of rules, requirements, and guidelines for developing EPDs

By BD+C Staff | November 14, 2013

The Gypsum Association has completed the development of a product category rules (PCR) document for North American gypsum boards.

The intended application of the PCR is to provide a common set of specific rules, requirements, and guidelines for developing ISO 14025 conformance Type III environmental product declarations (EPDs) for North American produced gypsum board products.

It is also intended to specify the underlying requirements of the life cycle assessment (LCA) in conformance with The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14040 series of LCA standards.
