Dept. of Homeland Security offers tool to analyze building risk and resilience

The Integrated Rapid Visual Screening tool is designed to determine initial or relative risk and resilience for buildings based on visual inspection only.

By BD+C Staff | August 16, 2013

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is now providing The Integrated Rapid Visual Screening tool designed to determine initial or relative risk and resilience for buildings based on visual inspection only. The tool categorizes 15 building types and addresses 20 hazardous events: internal (intrusion, blast and CBR); external blast and external chemical, biological, and radiological releases; earthquakes; wind; landslide; and fire. The knowledge for calculating both risk and resilience is embedded in the tool. For more information, see: Integrated Rapid Visual Screening of Buildings
