Effective Waterproofing

This session discusses several aspects of concrete, including its chemistry, advantages and disadvantages, as well as ways to protect and extend its durability through waterproofing. Also included in this session are different ways of waterproofing and appropriate uses for each.
Learning Objectives:
1. Explain some of the issues relating to concrete deterioration as a result of water
penetration.
2. Differentiate between dampproofing, waterproofing, and vaporproofing methods.
3. Differentiate between positive and negative side waterproofing.
4. Identify various types of waterproofing systems and differentiate between them.
