CHICAGO, Jan. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The 19th Annual Construction Safety Conference, sponsored by the nonprofit Construction Safety Counci, will be held February 17 & 18, 2009 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center and the professional development seminars will be held February 19, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza O'Hare in Rosemont. This is the largest construction-specific safety conference held in the US.

 

Some new developments include:

The keynote presenter for lunch on Tuesday, February 17 has just been announced. Kevin J. Cunningham serves as Executive Vice President of NBIS. Kevin has restructured the NBIS Commercial Heavy Equipment program facility from Lloyds of London to National Interstate Insurance Company to enhance NBIS product offerings through additional lines such as Contractor Auto-Truckers Liability and Captive options for Auto/Workers Compensation. Kevin also designed and implemented the residential "limited binding authority" for key producers to enhance operation efficiency and improve production for ProBuilders facility.

 

He possesses over 25 years experience in loss control, claims and insurance underwriting of high hazard industries. Kevin has the worldwide exclusive endorsements of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) where he acts as the insurance and risk management program administrator of the Association and has provided MGA based Insurance & Risk Management Services since 1996. Kevin is a recognized national speaker and has written various articles relating to risk management for the crane and rigging industry, including the "Insurance Insight" column for American Cranes & Transport publication.

 

Kevin has been elected as Commissioner of the National Commission for Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), and is a faculty member of the Construction Safety Council. Kevin previously held executive management positions at Lumberman's Underwriting Alliance, Alternative Insurance Services, Inc. and Special Risk Services Group. Kevin captained the Iowa State University football team to the Peach Bowl in 1977 and played professionally in the NFL and World Football League prior to his insurance career.

Over 70 sessions will be offered throughout the three days and over 70 exhibitors will be on hand to demonstrate the latest innovations in safety and health products and services. The exhibits will be open the first two days of the conference (February 17 & 18).

 

The conference brings together a diverse audience, including construction owners/users, contractors, researchers, government officials, safety and health professionals, unions, and workers to share information and ideas about effective safety and health interventions and how to move best practices from inception to practical implementation.

 

The conference kicks off on Tuesday, February 17 at 7:30 am. The cost of the conference is $245 for one day or $395 for the first two days, $295 for the professional development seminars on February 19, or $595 for all three days.
