The new 47-story luxury residential high-rise designed for Chicago’s South Loop has officially broken ground.

Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and built by Walsh Construction, the new tower will comprise 500 luxury rental units and 188 parking spots. In addition to the residential aspect, the tower will also have 7,500 sf of retail space.

Amenities for the glass high-rise include a library, lounge, dog park, spa, and a rooftop pool. Co-working space and green spaces will also be included. Chicago-based Murphy Development group and Los Angeles-based CIM Group are developing the project.

The building, which is scheduled for a 2019 opening, will be constructed to LEED Certified standards.

Walsh Construction has already completed a 40-story tower in the city’s South Loop and is currently working on another 33-story apartment building.
