CISCO recognizes Gilbane for quality construction, design, and safety

The Construction Industry Service Corporation (CISCO) recently announced its Project of the Year winners as part of its annual Pride in Construction award program. Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare Integrated Healthcare Facility received top honors in the New Construction – Suburbs category. The result of a collaboration between construction manager Gilbane Building Company, Elmhurst staff, Pratt Design Studios, and Albert Khan Associates, this 50-acre integrated healthcare campus includes more than one million square feet of buildings and opened on time and on budget in July 2011.

Due to the complexity of the project, the construction team worked with Elmhurst and the design team to integrate the design and construction phases and effectively manage the aggressive construction schedule. Gilbane used Building Information Modeling and provided early full-scale prototype mockups of key rooms to help expedite construction while ensuring the highest quality
