California adds window film to building code

California is the first state to add window film into its building code. Window film, a polymer material, offers cost-effective energy savings. The material can considerably decrease energy consumption as well as minimize interior fading of furnishings, UV exposure to skin, glare and the impact of glass breakage, according to manufacturers. According to a report offered by ConSol, based in California, the majority of existing homeowners will be able to achieve considerable energy savings by using the material.
