Builders Hardware Manuf. Assn. revises three standards for hinges, locks, and latches

The Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA) released three new revisions to the ANSI/BHMA standardsfor hinges, interconnected locks, and sliding and folding hardware. The standards are:

·       A156.1 Butts and Hinges adds requirements for light weight hinges and clarifies the definition of barrel hinges, as well as providing an evaluation of adjustable hinges

·       A156.12 Interconnected Locks and Latches eliminates Cass testing, updates UV test criteria, and provides a new test for the operation of a deadbolt by cylinder.

·       A156.14 Sliding and Folding Hardware adds force gages to the list of equipment and sets additional requirements for heavier folding doors used on residential patios and light commercial applications.

California bill would limit where distribution centers can be built
