BRE says it will release an update of the BREEAM USA In-Use standard this fall.

The update will make the BREEAM standard available for multifamily and residential buildings, including individual homes, in the United States for the first time. This update will be released in conjunction with the update of BREEAM In-Use around the world.

The updates will enable clients for the first time to assess the performance of their entire residential portfolios using the same methodology available for other property types, allowing for easy comparability. It will allow the demonstration of sustainability through other benchmarks such as GRESB.

A draft version of the new standard will be made available for public comment for a four-week period this summer. More information can be found at: https://www.breeam.com/engage/research-and-development/consultation-engagement/
