Testing Valspar products to deliver on our promise

April 21, 2017

At Valspar, we believe in creating coatings that stand the test of time. Valspar scientists rely on testing to develop products that resist humidity, fading, chalking, abrasion and most chemicals while retaining the intended color and appearance.

Our 6.25-acre test facility in Fort Myers, Fla., has 100,000 panels on exposure and demonstrates our commitment to testing. In fact, we have products that have over forty years of exposure time.

Because Valspar customers span the globe, we take many types of conditions into account. In addition to the Fort Myers facility, Valspar has three other facilities in Rochester, PA to test acid rain, Marengo, IL to test freezing and thawing, and Rockhampton, Queensland Australia to test high UV conditions.

Valspar understands the science behind successful coatings. For example, our testing facilities highlight the importance of the high-durability resins and pigments that we use.

Thorough testing helps provide peace of mind to Valspar customers. Before a product is available on the market and has earned the Valspar name, our test facilities have completely evaluated the product.
