Autodesk also recently released its latest Autodesk Labs product, “Project Storm.” This technology preview offering provides cloud-based structural analysis to structural engineers as a part of the BIM process. Engineers and designers can extend design models from Autodesk Revit Structure to the cloud for structural analysis from directly within Autodesk Revit Structure.

Project Storm is really a way to leverage the same analysis engine (as in Robot Structural Analysis) and have it be supported in the cloud for static analysis,” said Sarah Hodges, senior industry marketing manager for Autodesk. “Once users have downloaded Project Storm they can maximize their use of it directly from the Revit Structure environment.” BD+C
