Biopharmaceutical Firm Plans New HQ in Manhattan

The New York office of Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum is designing a 130,000-sf research headquarters for ImClone Systems at 325 Spring Street, a former Port Authority truck depot in Manhattan originally constructed in 1949. Flexible laboratories for 200 molecular biologists and other scientists will occupy approximately 75% of the loft-like space. The facility will also include a skylit "great hall" for meeting and dining functions.
