Awarded by the Royal Institute of British Architects, the Stirling Prize is an annual £20,000 prize awarded for the best British architecture of the year.
The longlist for the 2014 prize, including everything from Foster + Partners' Marseille to London's now-famous Shard, designed by Renzo Piano, has been released, leaving onlookers to speculate about the award's final recipient. The shortlist will be announced on the 17th of July, and the winner will be announced on the 16th of October.

Supertall 'Sky City' will house 4,400 families in Changsha, China
Broad Sustainable Building has completed a long and arduous approval process, and is starting excavation and construction on Sky City in June, 2013. The proposed "world's tallest building" will be a mixed-use project that could accommodate life and work needs of up to 30,000 people.
