Bernards, a nationally ranked commercial builder with five offices throughout the southwest, is collaborating with SWA Architects as the Design Builder for a new medical office building on the White Memorial Medical Center (WMMC) campus in Los Angeles.

The new facility is a $15-million, 41,000-sf concrete structure which includes three stories of medical office space atop a three-level parking garage. The interior will incorporate the same colors and textures used throughout other campus buildings. Bernards broke ground on this facility earlier this year and completion is scheduled for September 2013.

Bernards previously served as general contractor for a new $18-million, 19,333-square-foot concourse building at White Memorial Medical Center. This project, which was completed in 2010, included the hospital’s main entry, pergola, meditation garden, lobby, chapel, gift shop and waiting areas, as well as a porte cochere (covered vehicle entryway) and an underground tunnel connecting the concourse building with the specialty care tower, north and south buildings. +
