Batson-Cook Construction has teamed with 4JS to build a new Hampton Inn on a site adjacent to the National Infantry Museum & Soldier Center and Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga. The museum was also constructed by Batson-Cook.

The four-story, 65,000-ft property will feature 102 hotel rooms, including 14 studio suites. Amenities will include an outdoor pool, fitness center, a partitioned meeting room and a business center.

The hotel will feature Juliette balconies and an Arriscraft exterior. The hotel’s barrel tile roof will complement the distinctive roofing style that is so prevalent at Fort Benning. The project’s scope also includes a basement for future hotel rooms.

Aaron and Clements, Inc. of Columbus will oversee construction as the Owner’s Program Manager. Bounds & Gillespie Architects, PLLC, of Memphis, Tenn., is the project’s architect. Completion is estimated for late 2012 to early 2013. BD+C
