London-based firm Avery Associates ArchitectsĀ has unveiled designs for a 270-meter tower,Ā dubbed the No. 1 Undershaft, planned adjacent to the city'sĀ Leadenhall Building (aka, the cheesegrater).Ā

ArchDaily reports that the tower is planned to be the tallest in Londonā€™s central skyscraper cluster, and second tallest in London after the Shard.

The tower will slope toward the peak to preserve views of St. Paulā€™s Cathedral from Fleet Street. About halfway down the body of the building, the slope on the south-facing side stops and starts sloping inward to the ground floor, creating a public plaza at the buildingā€™s entrance.

According to ArchDaily, the unnamed developer is still seeking funding for the project.
