The American Concrete Institute (ACI) recently created a new position: Director of Innovative Concrete Technology.

Rex C. Donahey, Ph.D., currently Editor-in-Chief of ACI’s monthly magazine, Concrete International, was named to the post. He will focus on outreach with trade organizations, companies, and individuals to attract emerging technologies for development within ACI.

“The future well-being of the Institute depends on accommodating innovation and not being limited to existing technology and practices,” said Ronald G. Burg, ACI executive vice president. “ACI needs to be recognized as the professional organization of choice for developing new and emerging technologies. Adding a Director of Innovative Concrete Technology to ACI staff is essential to this effort and will keep ACI always advancing.”
