AGC Chief Economist Ken Simonson to keynote BD+C "ProCONNECT Office/Workplace," Sept. 24-25

ProCONNECT event brings Architects, Contractors, and Developers together with Building Product Manufacturers for 1-on-1 meetings via Zoom.

Kenneth D. Simonson has been Chief Economist for the Associated General Contractors of America since 2001.

Kenneth D. Simonson, Chief Economist of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), will be the keynote speaker at Building Design+Construction's ProCONNECT Office/Workplace event, Thursday, September 24 to Friday, September 25, from 11am to 4pm Eastern each day.

Simonson has been the Chief Economist for the AGC, the leading trade association for the construction industry, since 2001. He has more than 40 years' experience analyzing, advocating, and communicating about economic and tax issues. He also advises the Census Bureau on overhauling its construction data.

He is a Fellow and Past President of the National Association for Business Economics and Co-director of the Tax Economists Forum, a professional meeting group he co-founded in 1982.

Simonson has a BA in economics from the University of Chicago, and an MA in economics from Northwestern University.

 

SIMONSON TO DIVE DEEP INTO THE DATA

In his September 24 ProCONNECT Office/Workplace presentation, Simonson will discuss factors affecting office building developers, design firms, and construction companies, including labor and materials, based on the Data DIGest, Simonson's weekly summary of economic news relevant to construction. 

The presentation will also include Simonson's interpretation of the implications for office construction, renovation, and utilization based on data and analyses from industry groups like NAIOP, NAREIT, BOMA, and the AIA. He will also explore what other economists are saying about the broader economy and employment outlook.
