Advanced turbines generate 6X more energy than conventional models

Advanced turbines generate 6X more energy than conventional models

System captures ground-level breezes and funnels them through passageway to accelerate wind flow.

Inhabitat's Timon Singh recently previewed the system from U.S.-based wind energy company SheerWind. It is uniquely designed to capture ground-level breezes, which are then funneled through a tunnel that is shaped to naturally accelerate the wind flow.

According to the company, field testing shows the system can produce up to 600% more power than typical wind turbines.
