Editor's Note: As a follow up to our late-January post, "16 awe-inspiring interior designs from around the world," which highlighted the winners the International Interior Design Association's Annual Global Excellence Awards, we present seven more award-winning interior architecture and design projects—this time from IIDA's annual Interior Design Competition and Will Ching Design Competition.

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) proudly announces winners of its 41st Interior Design Competition and the 22nd Will Ching Design Competition

The annual Interior Design Competition celebrates outstanding, innovative interior design/interior architecture that encourages new ideas and techniques in the design and furnishing of interior spaces. The Will Ching Competition celebrates originality and excellence in commercial design from firms with five or fewer employees.

“As a jury, we were genuinely inspired by the diversity and impressive international scope of the projects entered,” said juror David Darling, IIDA, Founding Partner, Aidlin Darling Designs. “We observed many trends and common motifs. In our search for identifying design excellence, the winning projects either took these trends to a new level or charted completely new territory.”

In addition to Darling, jurors for both competitions included Ed Bakos (Managing Director, Champalimaud); Ray Eshcheid, Affiliate IIDA (Senior Vice President of Store Design and Merchandising, Bank of America Corporation); and Alessandro Munge, IIDA (Principal and Managing Partner, Munge Leung).

Awards honoring the winners of both the 41st Interior Design Competition and the 22nd Will Ching Design Competition will be presented at COOL, June 8, 2014, at The Ritz Carlton Chicago, as part of the IIDA celebration at NeoCon, at which time the winner for overall Best of Competition will also be announced.
