Despite its central location and bilingual workforce, the Honduras economy lags behind other countries in Latin America. To assist in economic development, it is embracing the unique business opportunities it can offer the world.

As an economic stronghold and educational center for the country, San Pedro Sula in northwest Honduras is uniquely suited to embrace these opportunities and is developing the modern, Altia Business Park. This multi-use campus will contain a university, sports facilities, medical center, and world-class shopping, providing numerous amenities to the business community.

Within the Altia Business Park, the Altara Shopping and Lifestyle Center is the dining, shopping, and recreation center, and expects to attract 20,000 visitors daily. This modern three-story commercial and lifestyle center serves as a focal point in the business park for the greater community. As a paramount feature, Altara’s architect, Gerardo Lopez, knew a captivating façade and entrance to the building would be essential.

Lopez discovered ALPOLIC aluminum composite panels, with a Prismatic line of panels that use a fluoroethylene vinyl ether (FEVE) technology with mica flake pigments. The result is a unique sparkling, color-shifting effect as light reflects from different angles.

ALPOLIC and Valspar teamed up to create the custom Valflon coil coatings that realized the purple-blue tones Lopez envisioned. In addition to awing and inspiring visitors, these durable FEVE fluoropolymer-based resins will add lasting protection in a climate known for tropical storms and high year-round temperatures.
